We all know that being overweight will make you more likely to develop health problems. You could be at risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis or diabetes. It is time for you to come up with a plan to eliminate those risks.

First off, it is neccessary to find out what your aiming for and then set a goal. After you have done that, you will need to make easier goals from the main goal.

It is necessary to make sure that your short term goals are somewhat achieveable. As you achieve each short term goal, it will give you more motivation to continue onwards to your ultimate goal.

Here are some tips to aid you in accomplishing your goals.

1. Make your main goal difficult but achieveable. Setting yourself a goal to lose 50lbs in four weeks is not realistic, so amend that goal to losing 50lbs at the rate of an average of 3lbs a week.

2. Research on how to find your Body Mass Index so you can know how much you need to lose to get to a healthy BMI. A general rule is that your BMI should be somewhere between 19 and 25. Anything above 25 BMI and you will be considered overweight and if your BMI is over 30 you are entering the dangerous obesity levels. So, in order to reach a realistic weight and to reduce your BMI to a safe level you need to begin a healthy eating plan to enable you to lose the extra pounds.

3. You need to make sure that you are losing weight for the correct reasons. Having the figure of a super model will likely be dangerous for your body, so make sure that you don't need to actually lose weight. However, it is always benfitial to create an exercise plan and healthy eating habits. At any rate, you will be healthier, happier, and in shape!
